Pottery for the Beginner and Beyond: (Monday) 9:30am-12:30pm
Whether you have never touched hands to clay or you have taken classes before, this course is for you. We will construct simple projects using basic forms of cylinders, bowls and plates. Hand building, wheel throwing and decoration techniques (including glazing) will be taught, with lots of hands on instruction and demonstrations. You will produce a number of glazed pieces that you can decorate yourself. So if you thought you could not, you can! If you thought you were not creative, you are! But most of all, we will have fun with a new language of clay.
Beginning and Intermediate Ceramics: All Levels (Monday) 1-4pm
Discover your creativity while working with clay and learning the fundamental techniques of throwing, hand building, glazing, finishing and decorating. The basic forms of bowls, cylinders and plates will be covered. Students are able to work at their own pace. Demonstrations and one-on-one instruction will be given.
Beyond the Fundamentals of Pottery: (Friday) 9:30am-12:30pm
Have fun while refreshing your basic skills and learning more advanced throwing. Demonstrations and individual help are offered to bring out the best in your projects and ideas, whether functional or sculptural. A variety of decorating and forming techniques, as well as glazing will be addressed. The focus is on discovering your personal style and moving up to the next level.

Throwing & Hand Building for all Levels
If you’re a beginner who has always wanted to throw pottery on the wheel or a more experienced student who wants to improve, then this hands-on class is for you. Through numerous demonstrations and individual coaching, beginners will learn to throw the basic forms of cylinders, bowls and plates, or handbuild using slab techniques, extruding and more. Finishing techniques such as trimming and glazing will be covered as well as other decorating techniques to bring your own personal style to your work. Experienced students who have mastered the basic forms and are looking to learn more advanced throwing techniques will explore various ways to bring your own unique expression to your work.
